Sedgwick County is located in southern Kansas. It is named for John Sedgwick, a Union General during the Civil War.
The seat and largest city are both Wichita, the largest city in Kansas. The Arkansas River runs through the county.
It is bordered by Harvey, Butler, Cowley, Sumner, Kingman and Reno Counties.
